This is an assembled list of individual herbs and herbal blends. One thing to note is this; each product or herb has a different effect. None are "like" marijuana. They all have different euphoric affects.

None of these herbs or herbal blends will give you a marijuana high, however you may experience to most if not all of the following effects and sensations: euphoria, relaxation, overall feelings of peace and well being, anti-anxiety, some relief from depression, chattiness, "the giggles", some inebriation, et cetera. Many users much prefer the affects of some of these blends over marijuana.

  • Wild Lettuce:

    Commonly known as Wild Lettuce, Lactuca virosa is believed to have been used for its psychoactive properties by ancient Egyptians. It often appears in Egyptian art associated with the god Min, the god of the desert, of lightening and sandstorms, in addition to being known as the god of procreation and fertility. Wild lettuce can be used in cases of an overactive nervous system and as a sedative. The dreamy effects are a little bit similar to opium, but milder. Wild lettuce can help reduce the feeling of restlessness, excitability and insomnia. Furthermore it can relieve colic pains in the intestines and uterus and also muscular pains related to rheumatism.   • Wild Dagga:

    Wild Dagga is a species of plant in the Lamiaceae (mint) family native to southern Africa. It is smoked or made into a medicinal tea by the Khoikhoi (Hottentots) a tribe of South Africa. Wild Dagga is good for inducing a deep meditative sleep, calming, relaxing and enhancing dreaming. Wild Dagga also has a pleasant smell that can be used for incense. Leonotis Leonurus (Wild Dagga)
    Also known as wild dagga ('wild cannabis') and lion's tail. Wild dagga leaves were smoked by the Hottentot tribe of southern Africa because of its euphoric effect. It grows mainly in southern and eastern Africa. The main active alkaloid is leonurine.
    In traditional African medicine Leonotis has been widely used as a part of many different treats. It is also used in case of a snake bite and as a charm to keep snakes away.

    Salvia Divinorum (Ska Maria Pastora) was discovered by the Mazatec Indians.

    The Aztecs are said to have believed damiana herb to be a potent aphrodisiac, which is an agent that stimulates sexual desire.Traditionally, damiana herb has also been used by wiccans in their ceremonies.     Sceletium tortuosum (Kanna) has been used by South African pastoralists and hunter-gatherers as a mood-altering substance since prehistoric times. Kanna elevates mood and decreases anxiety, stress and tension, and it has also been used as an appetite suppressant by shepherds walking long distances in arid areas.
    Sceletium, also known as Kanna, is used as a psychedelic by the Hottentots of South Africa. Is is sniffed, smoked or used as tea. The Dutch who arrived in South Africa called it kaugoed, which means 'chewing substance'.
    Effects:

    Sceletium tortuosum enhances mood and a sense of connection, while relieving anxious feelings. In higher dosages it can cause euphoria, initially with stimulation and later with relaxation.
    Usage:
    Sceletium can be used as snuff, 20 mg is sufficient to produce a substantial effect. You can also chew it with a piece of gum. Traditionally it was smoked. The combination with cannabis or alcohol produces interesting effects. Futher you can make tea of it, or extract the active compound with alcohol.

    Calea Dream herb

    Calea dream herb is also known as 'dog grass' or Calea zacatechichi ("bitter grass"). The shrub belongs to the sunflower family and grows naturally in the Mexican highlands and certain parts of Costa Rica. Calea zacatechichi measures 1 - 1.5 m in height. The plant has many branches with oviform and opposite leaves (3-5 cm long and 2-4 cm wide).


    It is used by the Chontal Indians of Mexico to obtain divinatory messages during dreaming and in Mexican folk medicine as an aperitif and to improve the natural metabolism. Indians have been naming calea 'leaf of God'. It is valued for its ability to clear the senses, to induce visions in dreams and as a healing plant in general. Shamans use the herb to receive divine messages in their dreams. Ordinary people in Mexico use it to increase appetite and health product that supports among other things a natural digestion.
    Effects
    Calea provides a restful and drowsy effect. The psychoactive effect is subtle and can be described as dreamlike. Mexican Indians consider calea as a hallucinogen, although no hallucinogenic alkaloid has been isolated yet.
